Colin Farrell fought hard to make his version of the Penguin smoke tobacco in Batman (2022), but failed

Scenario

Following the events of Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, aka The Penguin, plays a show to take control of Gotham’s criminal underworld. From melting makeup to filming in freezing temperatures, Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti talk about how they got into character during the production of The Penguin. For his own series, however, the character was portrayed as an occasional tobacco user, with a penchant for cigars.

So the first episode is over and it was great

The DC Studios logo is placed in a rainy Gotham alley. The umbrella falls and the logo changes to that of Warner Bros.. Featured in Graham Norton and guests: Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti (2024).

I’ve never seen Farrell so invested in a character

I mean, he’s wearing a fat suit, but you’d never know it. His attitude, body language, voice make you immerse yourself in the character and see only Penguin. No relation to any of the other live TV penguins, Burgess Meredith or Robin Lord Taylor.

He’s Scorsese’s mobster, but without the fancy language

This is a New York mobster, a smart guy. The plot is simple, similar to Lord Taylors Penguin on CW’s Gotham. Penguin is an intermediary in a mafia organization.

Very entertaining and highly recommended

He’s been doing his time so far, slowly working his way up in the mob, and then, with the effects of the Riddler blowing up the city walls and the death of his boss in that movie, he sees an opportunity to move up in the world. Now begins the game of cross, double cross and, I guess, triple cross.
